Sal’s Pizza and Bagelry

March 24, 2019 by seanbernard

une 12: Sal’s Pizza and Bagelry, 2095 Foothill Blvd La Verne

Ordered: 1 “margherita,” 1 ½-cheese, half-pepperoni (14”, $16.50 and $14, respectively).

Sal’s pizza is basically an assemblage of all the local places we tried prior: the crust was vaguely crisp on the bottom, though this gave it an unpleasant burnt taste; the sauce was on the sweet side; the cheese pizza had far too much cheese; the pepperoni didn’t crisp enough in the oven; the ‘margherita’ (they kindly made on request) had huge dollops of ricotta and tasted okay.

Summary: Meh. But when you get a chance, check out their crazy menu! Sandwiches! Bagels! Breakfast! Burgers! Pizza!
